OKLAHOMA CITY (OBV) – Oklahoma has a new chief operating officer.
Gov. Kevin Stitt this week named Brian Bobek the new state COO.
Bobek had served in the governor’s office as Stitt’s deputy chief of staff.
“Brian has been a true partner in our mission to make Oklahoma a top ten state,” Stitt said. “His integrity, vision, and passion for our state inspire those around him. I am excited to see him thrive in his new role, and I know he will continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Oklahomans.”
Bobek’s responsibilities as COO include overseeing Stitt’s cabinet secretaries and chief advisors as well as all state agencies.
“His role is crucial in implementing the Governor’s vision and priorities across Oklahoma’s state government,” a news release from Stitt’s office states.
Bobek’s professional background includes 20 years of management and operations experience.
An Oklahoma native, Bobek earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and worked for BP, a British multinational oil and gas company, for 23 years.
Working for BP gave Bobek experience in leadership and strategic planning, according to the news release.
“I am honored to take on this new responsibility,” Bobek said. “I am grateful to Governor Stitt for his trust and confidence in me. With the Lord’s guidance, I look forward to building on the progress of the Stitt administration and serving the great people of Oklahoma.”
Bobek served on the Oklahoma State Board of Education, Career & Technology Education Board of Oklahoma and the Statewide Virtual Charter School Board for Oklahoma.
