OKLAHOMA CITY (OBV) – The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission wants Oklahoma veterans and military service members to know that OESC has specialized services that will help them obtain jobs and grow their careers.

OESC is spotlighting their veteran services in honor of veterans day and the service and sacrifices made by veterans across the state in defense of their nation.

“We’re honored to stand by our veterans and provide them with the support they need to successfully pursue meaningful employment opportunities in Oklahoma. We remain committed to empowering our veterans with individual assistance, essential resources and direct connections to employers,” said Jeff Fryer, director of communications at OESC. “We encourage all eligible veterans to explore the resources available through OESC and take advantage of the opportunities that await them in Oklahoma.”

OESC has a wide variety of employment services that provide personalized assistance and resources to service members and veterans who are transitioning into the the job market.

The Jobs for Veterans State Grant enables OESC to offer tailored career services to eligible veterans and military spouses.

OESC’s Veterans Employment Services team is composed exclusively of veterans who have personal experience transitioning from military service to civilian careers. They work to help fellow veterans and service members overcome employment barriers by strategically connecting them directly to hiring managers.

“With a unique understanding of the challenges veterans face, the team at OESC is dedicated to helping veterans access the full array of resources and services available to support their success in the 21st-century workforce,” OESC officials said.

Veteran Employment Services also organizes monthly veteran job clubs across the state. Job clubs give veterans and military personnel the opportunity to have one-on-one conversations with employers who are looking to hire. Veterans and military personnel who participate in job clubs are asked to bring copies of their resume and dress professionally. Click here for the OESC events calendar, which has dates for upcoming job clubs. Select the “Veterans – Military Career Fair” category.

Veterans who need help getting a job or employers interested in hiring veterans are encouraged to reach out to their nearest OESC office so they can be connected to a Veterans Employment Services team member.
