OKLAHOMA CITY (OBV) — The Oklahoma Department of Commerce on Tuesday announced the appointment of the inaugural members of its new board of directors, established under 2025 legislation to strengthen oversight of the state’s economic development strategy. The nine‑member board is responsible for approving Commerce’s strategic plans and budgets, advising on CEO appointments and compensation, and providing guidance on major economic development projects.

“We are excited to work alongside this board as we continue building on Oklahoma’s strong economic momentum,” Commerce CEO John Budd said, citing the state’s record $14.7 billion in capital investment in 2025. “This board brings valuable private‑sector expertise that will help ensure Oklahoma remains the most business‑friendly state in the country.”

Board chair and Secretary of Commerce Deborah Moorad said the new structure comes at a pivotal moment for business recruitment and expansion. “Oklahoma is coming off an extraordinary year of economic achievement, and we have a tremendous opportunity to build on that success,” Moorad said.

Members include: Deborah Moorad, Andrew Ralston, Donelle Harder, Brandon Coon, Brian E. Kimrey, Dave Stewart, Robert Rainey, Danny Hancock and Brent Wright.
