Walmart, Sam’s Club launch Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (OBV) — Walmart and Sam’s Club are partnering with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma during the 2026 Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign, a nationwide Feeding America effort running April 6 through May 3.

Feeding America said the campaign is designed to keep donations local, with supplier and register donations directed to a Feeding America partner food bank in the store or club’s community.

“The Regional Food Bank is committed to building thriving communities to ensure everyone has access to the nutritious food they deserve,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “People are working hard to provide for themselves and their families, but so many need support to put food on their tables. Fight Hunger. Spark Change. is a chance each year for our community to come together alongside our neighbors facing hunger to take action, and we’re grateful to Walmart for partnering with us to make a difference.”

Walmart’s Senior Vice President of Philanthropy Julie Gehrki said the campaign is built on the idea that “small actions lead to significant impact” and noted that donations and participating purchases help support hunger-relief work through Feeding America’s network.

Customers can participate in three primary ways: buying participating products in-store or online (triggering supplier donations), donating or rounding up at checkout in-store or online, or giving directly through Feeding America’s campaign page.

Feeding America’s profile of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma lists the organization’s service area and notes that 1 in 6 people and 1 in 4 children face hunger in the region it serves.
