OKLAHOMA CITY (OBV) — Rep. Sam Wargin Grimaldo, D-Oklahoma City, took the oath of office June 26 to represent House District 92 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
Wargin Grimaldo was elected during the June primary election and will represent parts of south Oklahoma City.
A criminal defense and immigration attorney, Wargin Grimaldo previously worked as a teacher for Oklahoma City Public Schools and as an education advocate through the GEAR UP program at the University of Central Oklahoma. He later earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
In a statement, Wargin Grimaldo said he plans to focus on accountability in government, public education, and civil rights protections.
He will join the Oklahoma Legislative Latino Caucus, which includes Reps. Arturo Alonso-Sandoval and Annie Menz, as well as Sen. Michael Brooks-Jimenez.
