WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Transportation plans to release six funding opportunities to establish a national network of Small Business Transportation Technical Assistance Centers.
The centers will serve as regional hubs providing business development and technical assistance across multistate service areas. Services will be designed to help small businesses compete for transportation-related contracts, receive business counseling and training, connect with financing and bonding resources, and build capacity within the transportation marketplace.
Eligible host organizations are expected to include colleges, universities, chambers of commerce, nonprofits, economic development organizations, and other community-based groups.
Each center will lead its region while working with local stakeholders, educational institutions, industry organizations, and community partners.
USDOT’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization scheduled an informational webinar for Aug. 3 covering program requirements, eligibility, the application process, and the cooperative agreement opportunity.
