Free summit will connect Oklahoma employers with workforce training partners
The Employer Microcredential Summit will focus on skills-based hiring, customized training, employee development, and stronger talent pipelines.

Oklahoma employers can explore new approaches to workforce shortages, employee upskilling, and talent development during an Employer Microcredential Summit this October.
The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and UpSkillOK will offer the one-day summit Wednesday, Oct. 21, and again Friday, Oct. 23, at LX Studio at the University of Central Oklahoma in downtown Oklahoma City.
The event is free, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Microcredentials are short-term, competency-based credentials that verify specific workplace skills. Colleges and universities can work directly with employers to design programs around identified skill gaps, giving businesses a targeted way to recruit, retain, and advance employees.
UpSkillOK serves as Oklahoma’s statewide microcredential marketplace, connecting employers with higher education institutions that can develop workforce-focused training and customized credentials.
The summit will include workforce roundtables, examples of employer-higher education partnerships, and discussions about skills-based hiring, internships, employee development, and talent pipelines. It is intended for business leaders, human resources professionals, workforce development professionals, and other industry representatives.
Registration is now open for the Employer Microcredential Summit.
