Williams completes $5.5 billion acquisition of Momentum Midstream

The Tulsa-based company’s deal adds more than 4,000 miles of pipeline and expands its natural gas operations serving Gulf Coast markets.

Tulsa-based Williams completed its acquisition of Momentum Midstream in a transaction valued at approximately $5.5 billion, the company announced Sept. 3.

The transaction includes approximately $3.5 billion in cash and debt consideration and roughly $2 billion in Williams equity.

Momentum’s assets add more than 4,000 miles of pipeline, 6 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas gathering capacity, and multiple processing and treating facilities in the Haynesville basin.

Williams said the expanded network will help serve growing demand from liquefied natural gas facilities, power generators, and industrial customers along the Gulf Coast.

Williams President and CEO Chad Zamarin said the acquisition strengthens the company’s position in the region and provides opportunities for additional expansion.
