Stardust Power advances electrical infrastructure for Muskogee lithium refinery
OG&E is securing equipment needed to deliver power to the proposed facility, which would produce up to 50,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually.
Stardust Power said Sept. 15 that OG&E is securing electrical infrastructure for its proposed Muskogee lithium refinery under a previously announced agreement between the companies.
The equipment requires lengthy procurement timelines, making it an important part of preparations for the industrial project, according to the company’s announcement.
“As we continue preparing the Muskogee site for future EPC activities, securing critical electrical infrastructure remains an important component of our overall strategy,” said Chris Celano, Stardust Power’s chief operating officer. EPC refers to engineering, procurement, and construction.
The approximately 66-acre site is in Muskogee’s Southside Industrial Park. Stardust Power plans to develop the refinery in two phases, each with annual production capacity of approximately 25,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate.
The company aims to expand domestic lithium refining capacity and support the U.S. battery supply chain. The announcement did not specify equipment delivery dates or a production start date.
