SAND SPRINGS, Okla. (OBV) – Webco Industries recently celebrated the opening of the first building of its F.W. Weber Leadership Campus.

The new, three-story facility will be the location of Webo’s leadership and IT team. The Webco Tech Center, which is responsible for research and development, advanced testing, prototyping and metallurgical problem-solving, will also be located in the 77,000-square-foot facility, according to Oklahoma Department of Commerce officials.

The new F. W. Weber Leadership Campus and the Webco Tech Center are “the next chapter in our forever journey,” according to Webco leaders.

Webco officials christened the new campus with a ceremony and a book of inspirational quotes that reinforce Webco’s culture and the company’s guiding 16 Principles.

“We’ve always said we’re a company where people make the difference. The Tech Center ensures our teammates have what they need to make an even bigger difference as we move forward into our next chapter,” Dave Boyer, President of Webco, said.

Webco produces carbon steel, stainless steel and other metal specialty tubing products designed to industry and customer specifications.

The company’s tech operations were previously spread out across several locations.

Bringing Webco employees together and providing them with the laboratory, equipment and resources to advance the specialty tubing industry is a vital part of the company’s continuing growth.

The new campus is located at the former location of the L.E. Rader Juvenile Detention Center, which closed in 2011, adjacent to the Webco Star Center manufacturing facility.

Webco bought the land from the Sand Springs Economic Development Authority and redeveloped it for the new campus.

The Tech Center facility has green spaces that can be used as collaborative work areas and a view of the Arkansas River with downtown Tulsa in the distance.

“We launched a forever company in Sand Springs back in 1969, and we knew we wanted to build our leadership campus here,” said Dana Weber, CEO and chair of the Webco Board of Directors.

The company’s former corporate headquarters will be remodeled to serve as Webco University’s primary location. Webco’s more-than-1,400 employees will train at the university.
