National Civics Bee Opens for Oklahoma Middle School Applicants
Entries due Feb. 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Time. Eligible to 6th–8th graders statewide.
OKLAHOMA CITY (OBV) — The State Chamber of Oklahoma has opened applications for the National Civics Bee, a nonpartisan competition that invites Oklahoma 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to share ideas for improving their communities and to test their civics knowledge for recognition and cash prizes.
Applications must be submitted by Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Time. Applicants will enter through the national portal and may participate in local bees hosted by chambers including Stillwater, Moore, Mustang, Lawton Fort Sill, and McAlester.
Top finalists will advance to the Oklahoma State Finals, with the state winner earning a spot at the National Championship in Washington, D.C. in Fall 2026.
“As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, we have a powerful opportunity – and responsibility – to reignite civic learning across the country. Our hope is that the National Civics Bee inspires more schools to prioritize civics education, equipping young people with a deeper understanding of how our government and democracy work – and the essential role they play in strengthening their communities and our nation,” said Hilary Crow, vice president of civics at the U.S. Chamber Foundation.
