Hilliary Communications marks Choctaw expansion

OKLAHOMA CITY (OBV) — Hilliary Communications marked its expansion into eastern Oklahoma County with a ribbon cutting Thursday, April 23, in Choctaw.

The event included community leaders, the Choctaw Chamber and Sen. Brenda Stanley, R-Midwest City.

“It was a pleasure to join community leaders and the Choctaw Chamber for the ribbon cutting event to welcome Hilliary Communications to eastern Oklahoma County,” Stanley said. “These business partners are key to the economic development and growth in our more rural areas of the state.”

Hilliary Communications is a third-generation, family-owned telecommunications company headquartered in Medicine Park. The company has served rural communities for more than 60 years and provides service across Oklahoma, Texas and Iowa.

The Choctaw ribbon cutting follows Hilliary’s acquisition of TDS Telecom’s Oklahoma network operations, which added nearly 35,000 service locations across the state. The acquired network includes communities near Tulsa and Oklahoma City, as well as southwest Oklahoma markets around Lawton and Elgin.

The acquisition was Hilliary’s eighth telecommunications acquisition since 2016.

The company says it is investing more than $250 million in broadband infrastructure projects across Oklahoma, Texas and Iowa, including fiber deployment and network modernization in rural communities.
