A quick roundup of major construction, transportation, broadband, and energy-infrastructure developments announced or moving this month across Oklahoma.

Civic construction

MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium: OKC selects Lingo Construction as construction manager
Oklahoma City awarded a construction management services contract to Lingo Construction Services for the MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium project. The contract is valued at $24 million, and the stadium is planned as a 10,000-seat venue with potential to expand for larger events. The City says construction is expected to begin in April 2026, with the stadium slated to open in early 2028.

Transportation

ODOT lists I-35/Waterloo Road interchange as an upcoming major project
ODOT’s January “Upcoming Major Projects” listing includes an interchange project on I-35 over Waterloo Road near the Logan County line. The estimate is $52.86 million, with 750 days for completion. The listed contractor is Sherman Smith Contractors, Inc.

Energy infrastructure

Francis Energy upgrades fast-charging site in Norman
Francis Energy announced an upgrade to Oklahoma’s EV fast-charging infrastructure in Norman, framed as an update to the state’s first “supercharging” location. The announcement was shared through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

Broadband buildout

Oklahoma Broadband Office closes out first completed expansion projects (Washita & Greer counties)
The Oklahoma Broadband Office announced two SLFRF-funded projects are fully closed out, delivering new fiber service to 366 locations in/around Burns Flat and Granite, built by Dobson Fiber.

Industrial development

MidAmerica Industrial Park: CBC ammunition facility continues toward groundbreaking
Tulsa World reported that CBC Global Ammunition completed the purchase of 500+ acres at MidAmerica Industrial Park (Mayes County) for a planned $300 million production facility, with a spring groundbreaking expected.
