OKLAHOMA CITY (OBV) — Sen. Kelly Hines has been named chair of the Oklahoma Legislature’s Aerospace Caucus, succeeding Sen. Adam Pugh, who founded the caucus in 2019 as Oklahoma’s aerospace and aviation industry began a period of rapid growth. Hines, a retired Army aviator, will lead the bipartisan caucus alongside Rep. Nicole Miller, who was appointed vice chair.

The Aerospace Caucus was created to advance public policies supporting one of Oklahoma’s largest and fastest-growing industries. Since its formation, the caucus has played a key role in workforce development, infrastructure investment, and legislative engagement with aerospace, aviation, and defense stakeholders across the state.

“I’m unbelievably honored to be chosen to lead the Legislature’s Aerospace Caucus, which has championed a series of reforms to grow the state’s second-largest industry,” Hines said. “After nearly 30 years as an Army aviator and aviation commander, I’m ready to use that experience to strengthen our workforce, support innovation, and ensure Oklahoma remains a national leader in aerospace.”
