Inasmuch launches Bedrock fund with more than $7.2 million in grants
The inaugural awards support 12 organizations and initiatives focused on education, workforce development, housing, and community services.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Inasmuch Foundation launched Bedrock, an invitation-only fund, with more than $7.2 million committed to 12 organizations and initiatives across Oklahoma, the foundation announced Sept. 24.
The awards include funding for the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber’s partnership with CivicLab to develop a regional education and workforce strategy. Heartland Forward will receive support to launch rootED Oklahoma, a pilot connecting rural students with college, training, and career opportunities.
“Oklahoma City’s continued growth depends on our ability to build a strong talent pipeline and create clear pathways from education to meaningful careers,” said Christy Gillenwater, president and CEO of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber.
Education investments also include support for Fuel OKC’s work to expand access to high-quality public schools and John Rex Charter School’s capital campaign for a new downtown Oklahoma City public high school. Curbside Enterprises will use its funding to expand employment opportunities for people experiencing homelessness and poverty.
Other recipients include City Care, Focus on Home, Lilyfield, Mental Health Association Oklahoma, Pivot, ReMerge, and the City of Oklahoma City’s Humane Care Advancement Initiative. Those awards support housing, family stability, mental health services, and animal care.
Bedrock grants require approval from Inasmuch Foundation’s board of directors. The fund will operate by invitation, with the foundation identifying opportunities to support long-term improvements in Oklahoma communities.
