$300M ammunition manufacturing project progresses at MidAmerica

CBC Global Ammunition has completed the purchase of more than 500 acres at MidAmerica Industrial Park in Mayes County, moving forward with plans for a $300 million ammunition manufacturing facility, according to reporting by Tulsa World.

The Brazil-based company plans to build four factories on roughly 500 acres within the 9,000-acre industrial park near Pryor. A groundbreaking for the project is expected this spring.

MidAmerica CEO David Stewart said the sale marks a significant transition for the site, which previously served as a World War II-era munitions plant.

“Transferring this land to CBC USA is a moment of historic and strategic significance,” Stewart told Tulsa World. “What was once a World War II munitions plant site will now support the future of ammunition manufacturing.”

CBC announced the project publicly in May after evaluating more than 50 sites nationwide. Company leaders cited MidAmerica’s available land, electric capacity, and coordination with state, tribal, and local partners as key factors in the decision.

“Oklahoma is so excited that CBC USA is going to make its home here,” Governor Stitt said at the time. “Because of our business-friendly policies, our support of law enforcement and the Second Amendment, and our unbeatable logistical advantage, it is a no-brainer for companies to choose our state. I’m thrilled to welcome the CBC team here and I can’t wait to watch them grow here in Oklahoma.”

The Oklahoma facility will produce a full range of small-caliber ammunition for military, law enforcement, and civilian markets. The project is expected to create 350 direct jobs and an estimated 634 indirect jobs across northeast Oklahoma.
