OKLAHOMA CITY (OBV) – Newsweek, one of the nation’s top magazines, ranked six Oklahoma hospitals among the best in the nation.

The weekly magazine released its top 250 hospitals in the world list. Newsweek included a sub-ranking of the best hospitals in the U.S.

The four best hospitals in Oklahoma, according to Newsweek, are as follows:

  • St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid, ranked 171
  • Stillwater Medical Center, ranked 211
  • Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, ranked 293
  • Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City, ranked 352
  • Duncan Regional Medical Center, ranked 371
  • INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, ranked 404

Mercy Oklahoma City Communities President Bennett Geister said Mercy Hospital OKC being included among the best hospitals in the nation is a great honor, but more progress is needed.

“We’re proud to rank so highly among our peers throughout the world, but we’re not satisfied,” Geister said. “Mercy’s caregivers come to work every day determined to provide the best medical care available and do it with uncommon compassion. We’re driven every day to provide the best of ourselves for our patients and their families. We are blessed to be blessings to them.”

Stillwater Medical Home Health, which is part of Stillwater Medical Center, received another great honor recently, being recognized in the top 5 percent in the nation for outstanding patient experience. It received the Press Ganey Human Experience Guardian of Excellence Award, which is based on patient feedback and represents an exemplary commitment to care.

“In home health our goal is to provide the most independent care in the safest situation possible. Our caregivers prioritize the patient and their families. Putting their needs first is always at the forefront of what we do,” said Maria Avers, director of home health. “We aren’t motivated by awards, but it’s wonderful for our work to be recognized.”
